The Mediterranean Agrofood Competence Center (MACC) is a partnership of 30 private
and 10 public entities from the fields of research, business, industry and services, primary sector, education, training, and business consulting. P.AN.ETAI.K. S.A. is one of the stakeholders participating in the share capital of the Competence Center for Agrofood in Crete.
The main activity axes included are:
Diagnostic tools and methods for the control and improvement of quality, authenticity, and safety of agricultural food products (new quality and authenticity biomarkers, new analytical methods for food safety control, etc.)
Biotechnology applications for the development and support of innovative agrofood products and modern improved production methods (innovative high added-value products, improved production processes in the primary and secondary sector,
Development of joint projects and achievement of economies of scale and scope, in procurement, development of distribution networks, funding of technological and applied research, and integration of technological, commercial, and organizational innovations in the businesses of the agrofood chain.
The solutions/products of MACC include mature products with existing/mature customers (and/or partners), some near completion and some at proposal level with high innovation potential but also risk.
MACC will operate as a business for development, management, and dissemination of innovation, from the profitability and actions of which both its shareholders and other businesses involved in the value chain of the agrofood sector will benefit.

Programmatic Agreement between the Region of Crete, the Technical Chamber of Greece/Western Crete Department, and P.AN.ETAI.K. S.A. for the Operation, Supervision, Security, and Visitor Management of the former Small Hydroelectric Station building, property of PPC Renewables, in Agyia, Chania.
P.AN.ETAI.K. S.A. undertakes the operation of the former Small Hydroelectric Station building in Agyia as an exhibition space accessible to the general public, the supervision and security of the site, visitor management, and the operation of a refreshment area in conjunction with the surrounding environment, visitor attraction and facilitation, and implementation of educational activities on energy production topics, supported by the Region of Crete and specialized scientists, in collaboration with academic and research institutions, the Technical Chamber of Greece, the preparation of an annual museum tour program, proposals for the development of supervisory or digital tools, etc.
