The Regional Development Company of Crete S.A. (P.AN.ETAI.K. S.A.) participated in the 5th Plenary Meeting of the European CSSBoost project, which took place on June 3 and 4, 2026, in the city of Vic, Catalonia, Spain, hosted by the BETA Technological Centre of the Universitat de Vic – Universitat Central de Catalunya (UVic-UCC).
P.AN.ETAI.K. was represented by the Company Director, Ms. Petrantonaki, and the Project Management Officer, Ms. Litou, who actively participated in the plenary sessions and discussions regarding the implementation progress and future exploitation of the project’s results.
During the first day of the meeting, the partners focused on evaluating the project’s progress following the mid-term review. They presented the status of the core Work Packages, the digital platforms and decision support services, the integration and evaluation of pilot applications, as well as the business exploitation, communication, and dissemination activities.
Of particular interest was the progress of Pilot 1 in Crete, in which P.AN.ETAI.K. S.A. actively participates in collaboration with the Mediterranean Agrofood Competence Center (MACC) and the other project partners. During the meeting, the participatory planning actions implemented with producers, agronomists, businesses, and stakeholders in the agri-food sector for the development of circular value chains were presented. At the same time, the information and awareness-raising actions implemented by P.AN.ETAI.K. in school units across Crete were highlighted, aimed at promoting the principles of the circular economy and the green transition. Through these actions, hundreds of students were informed about sustainable agriculture, natural resource management, and the potential of utilizing agricultural and livestock residues as valuable resources for local development.
The second day of the meeting was dedicated to reviewing the pilot applications in the European regions and improving the PESTELG analyses for the different implementation scenarios of the circular solutions. The partners worked together to plan the next steps, strengthen collaboration between regions, and develop the appropriate mechanisms that will enable the transfer and replication of the project’s results at the European level.
Additionally, the consortium focused on the results exploitation strategy, communication and dissemination activities, and ensuring the sustainability of the Circular Systemic Solutions (CSS), with the common goal that the solutions developed today can be scaled up and contribute significantly to the green and circular transformation of European regions even after the project’s completion.
P.AN.ETAI.K.’s participation in CSSBoost confirms Crete’s active role in promoting the circular economy, innovation, and sustainable regional development through collaboration with leading universities, research institutions, businesses, and public bodies from across Europe.
The European CSSBoost consortium and PANETAIK S.A. express their warmest thanks to the BETA Technological Centre and the Universitat de Vic – Universitat Central de Catalunya (UVic-UCC) for their excellent hospitality and organization of the meeting in Vic, Catalonia, significantly contributing to the strengthening of collaboration and knowledge exchange among the project partners.
