Programmatic agreement between P.AN.ETAI.K. S.A. and the Region of Crete, with P.AN.ETAI.K. S.A. as the Implementing Body.
The physical scope of the project concerns the management and promotion of infrastructures that contribute to the development of alternative forms of tourism in the Region of Crete for the years 2021-2022. The first action concerns the maintenance, supervision, and restoration of a network of hiking trails in the municipalities of the Chania prefecture, which was highlighted and created within the framework of the project titled “Promotion of trails as part of the development of alternative forms of tourism in the Chania Prefecture.” This includes the creation of approximately 60 nature-loving/hiking trails in various locations within the municipalities of the Chania Regional Unit, where, besides general restoration works, marking and corporate identity development activities are carried out. The next two actions concern the recording and mapping of a network of cycling routes and a network of via Ferrata routes in the Chania prefecture. Finally, the fourth action concerns a study for the design and management of the accessibility chain for the route for people with disabilities (PWD) in the Samaria Gorge, following a proposal submitted by the Chania Forest Directorate to the Council of Europe to create suitable infrastructure in the Samaria Gorge so that people with mobility impairments can also cross it.
