CRETE: LAND-CULTURE

The events CRETE – LAND AND CULTURE were organized for three consecutive years at the Mediterranean Development Center in Agia, Chania as a celebration of images, sounds, tastes, happenings, and messages — a meeting of local government with social and productive actors, citizens, or citizen groups; a process that breathes the “scent of Crete.”

The Prefectural Government, the Development Agency of Chania, the Local Government Association (TEDK), the Municipalities and Chambers of the Prefecture, as well as dozens of social organizations and citizen groups met with thousands of visitors over the three-day event within specially designed spaces for information and awareness, production of traditional food products and artistic handicrafts, presentation of the historical and cultural route of our land, entertainment, and communication.

The aim of the event was:

  • To highlight the local cultural, social, and productive creative potentials
  • To promote activities that contribute to the development and showcasing of our natural wealth
  • To disseminate the identity of Cretan Nutrition in the re-approach of production processes of products from the Cretan Land.
