PRESS RELEASE
The 1st informational event on the Operation of the Regional Support and Development Mechanism for Social Entrepreneurship in the Region of Crete was successfully completed on Monday, April 15, 2024, at the Rethymno Chamber Hall.
Brief greetings were given by the Deputy Regional Governor for Entrepreneurship, Mr. Vamvoukas, as well as the Deputy Mayor of Rethymno for Social Policy, Ms. Eleftheriadou-Gkika Anna.
The event was opened by Regional Councilor and Company President Mr. Efstratios Flemetakis, who conveyed the vision of the Region of Crete for a “creative Crete with identity, intelligent and dynamic with social cohesion, sustainable with shared values and self-confidence.”
Attendees were informed about European institutions and Greek legislation concerning the Social and Solidarity Economy by Mr. Georgios Merambeliotakis, a staff member of E.T.A.M S.A.
The Director of the Regional Development Company of Crete S.A., Ms. Maria Petrantonaki, presented the Program “Operation of the Regional Support and Development Mechanism for Social Entrepreneurship in the Region of Crete,” along with good previous practices and examples of social enterprises in the Region of Crete.
Mr. Drakonakis, a staff member of ETAM S.A., provided information on behalf of the Managing Authority of the Region of Crete about the upcoming Call for proposals for financing Social and Solidarity Economy entities under the Regional Program “Crete 2021-2027” with a budget of €2,000,000.
Present were the Mayor of Mylopotamos, Mr. Georgios Klados, Regional Councilors Ms. Evangelia Dermitzaki and Mr. Evangelos Tsouderos, members of social enterprises, and citizens.
