The 2nd informative event titled “Operation of the Regional Mechanism for Support and Development of Social Entrepreneurship in the Region of Crete” was successfully held on the afternoon of Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at the Hall of the Chania Chamber of Commerce.
The event was opened by the President of the Chania Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Antonis Rokakis. Members of Parliament for the Chania prefecture, Ms. Sevi Voloudaki and Mr. Alexandros Markogiannakis, as well as the Deputy Regional Governor for Entrepreneurship, Mr. Michail Vamvoukas, sent brief greetings.
Regional Councilor and Chairman of PANETAIK S.A., Mr. Efstratios Flemetakis, presented the vision of the Region of Crete for the Social Economy. Attendees were then informed about European institutions and Greek legislation on Social and Solidarity Economy, as well as good prior practices and examples of social enterprises in Greece by Mr. Drakonakis, a staff member of ETAM S.A.
The Director of the Regional Development Company of Crete S.A., Ms. Maria Petrantonaki, presented the program “Operation of the Regional Mechanism for Support and Development of Social Entrepreneurship in the Region of Crete” and the draft pre-announcement of the upcoming call for funding of Social and Solidarity Economy entities to be launched under the Regional Program “Crete 2021-2027” with a budget of €2,000,000.
Present were members of the Board of Directors of the Regional Development Company of Crete, Mr. Spyridon Balantinos, Mr. Eleftherios Kopasis, and Mr. Ioannis Manousakas-Vlandas; Deputy Mayors of Chania, Ms. Eleni Zervoudaki and Mr. Ioannis Nikiforakis; President of the Economic Chamber, Mr. Pantelis Petsetakis; Innovation Advisor of the Region of Crete, Mr. Antonis Papaderakis; accountants from Chania; members of social enterprises; and interested citizens.
